visionaire 001

Visionaire 001 is a black acetate frame, hand-finished and intentionally interrupted.

The design operates through surface modification rather than added symbolism. The material is treated as a technical skin: something that carries load, defines edges, and mediates touch. Instead of preserving a continuous, clean finish, the frame introduces a controlled set of abrasions that are pushed beyond incidental wear and translated into a structural topography.

Deep furrows run through the acetate and disturb the expected smoothness of the silhouette. They cut across radii and planes and interrupt transitions that would normally resolve into polish. The edge stays legible as a physical boundary, because the surface no longer behaves as one continuous gloss. Under changing light, the furrows produce local shadowing, micro-reflections, and directional highlights that shift with the viewing angle.

Alongside the work on the surface, physical break tests were used to study edge behavior. Stones were fractured to observe how texture concentrates where material gives way, how sharp edges collapse into irregularity, and how break lines create a rhythm of chipping and density. These observations became material input for the frame, informing depth, spacing, and the way the furrows terminate. The final geometry follows a constructed logic and avoids the randomness of casual distressing.

The lens color introduces a second deviation from neutrality. A yellow-tinted filter shifts the optical field toward warmth and slightly changes perceived contrast. The tone functions as a calibrated filter and connects the frame to material states where transparency drifts over time.

The result is a frame whose character is produced by process.

Visionaire 001 is built around the idea of création unique, where the base form is refined through a precise intervention into the material itself.

Each piece retains small differences because the finishing is done by hand and because the surface treatment is based on natural decay.
